Following the great interest by visitors to the Brisbane 1988 Expo in the imported technology that featured tensioned membrane shade structures, Ian Bowden, the founder of Creative Shade Sails, started designing and manufacturing shade sails. Through out the 1990’s the company’s growth proved Queensland residents were keen to gain sun protection from shade structures of all shapes and sizes. As the Gold Coast is Australia’s tourist capital many visitors saw the value of shade sails and spread the demand for Creative Shade Sail’s shade structures interstate and overseas.
